siriParticipantI am in Sydney Australia and bought the kit in Nov 2016, and it worked first time and with Blynk until today and Blynk started to ask for subs for their new App and also told me their old iOS app will be not supported by 31st dec 2022 (cloud servers gone).
I had old opengarage OS sine it worked but yesterday I updated to 1.2.0 and it went smoothly and I can see the new SSID and after that it got locked to my home wifi.
I started watching Ray’s youtube instructions and went after getting a cloud key for OTC rather than Blynk since I am happy to pay upfront but not subs.
After OTC cloud key, it locked into their cloud servers after about 2 mints and I have tested the App remotely with out wifi and it works.
All we need is update the existing iOS APP and also getting old apple watch app that used to work nicely. Happy to contribute if needed and as a retired R&D director that used to run 2000 people division, always nice to see Ray is doing good public work.
I like to ask Ray, is it possible to connect new door sensors to the old one I have?
siriParticipantDo you have wifi that have multiple streams from same ssid ? I have seen this issue from apple airport extreme since it generate multiple streams with extended network. BTW other extended network devices do the same..
Issue is you may have 5ghz and 2 ghz streams generating from your wifi router and the device you may (iPhone) use may be 5 ghz and for some reason open garage iOS app only work with if you are in the same stream as your principal (iPhone or laptop etc..).. Very poor way to design a app..
siriParticipantBlynk issue is fixed, details on Blynk not connecting lines
siriParticipantThis is fixed. I have gone through the Blynk cloud network connection and all the pin config on the Blynk.
Issue is If OG is reset and Blynk is open on iOS, Blynk will not get a IP address from the OG. There seems to some funny code here and I suggest OG code to ping Blynk server with IP info every 15 min or have a push icon from the OG to Blynk via the browser.
When I closed the Blynk on iOS and then reload the app it works and now IP address can be seen on the Blynk app.
siriParticipantSamer, It is better to get the critical features working first and then you can get watch etc.. working later. I thought watch feature was a great achievement since it was so convenient.
BTW, yesterday OG app got settings working again with history but main button does not work for open and close.
Also yesterday Blynk app went off line permanently and cannot get the local IP of the device. I have done a hard reset, remove blank and re install no luck.
I can open and close via the browser and this indicate all wifi and hardware of the device working perfectly except OG app and now Blynk gone kaput. Blynk acct is ok.
siriParticipantRay, I got a major issue with Blynk from yesterday.
Some how Blync app is not connecting to the device and saying device is off line… I can see the device from the web address and it is set to local IP+ cloud.
I could get the garage door working via the web but not from the Blynk since all virtual pins are correct but it does not see the IP or does not show the IP on blank app… Any help?
siriParticipantAfter so many Blync updates some how that app is now stable… But Opengarage App is gone Kaput and worst is Opengarage Apple watch was gone dead.. It does not even open it when you touch the App button on the watch.(2nd gen watch).
As a R&D Director running million doer products design and development, I find lack of response from Ray and Sameer is very disturbing.
Guys, if you are tech savvy people, make sure to support your own f*(*&^&%&^) products. If not go and work in fast food restaurants.
siriParticipantAfter iOS update 3 days ago, I got a strange problem with your app..
Blync is ok but OG App can open and close but all others are stuck.
Cannot get into, settings, history since it start to scan saying “One moment please” but thats it since it is stuck on that message.
I deleted the app and installed again and could log in and after that same issues.
Location control and manage controllers are fine and working.Strange issue is open and close work but some how it is behaving as it cannot see the local or mobile network.

siriParticipantHi Ray, when you did the video, you did not create a Blync set up info which you published recently with 6 photos which I found to be very useful. Pls. add that set up pictures to the video.

It was fine and not a issue. Never seen IP screen with the QR code though and only when I saw the 4 set up photos I got that initiated.
I have problem with your app after iOS upgrade.. I will explain that on app discussion.
siriParticipantWhy didn’t you put the photo in the first place with your video? Would have save saved many freking hrs trying to get this working after Blync shutting it down with off line message and then extortion kicking on..
I run huge R&D for a US tech company and I am very disappointed about documentation since hardware seems to be fine.
siriParticipantI am afraid, Blync app is always off line and does not see my local ip, even though I can get to the controller via the browser ..
Any idea how to get Blync back to recognise the controller..
I got this fixed,
Seen photos at firmware forum and tks for this since it would have been helpful if we had this settings photos at the begining.Even after photo settings done, Blync would not sync to wifi but after reboot it worked fine..
Never had the lcd from the day one and now I have this and nice to see the IP address with out scanning my home network via the scanner..Either way, I am getting sick of this Blync app and hope OG release the app with cloud backup and happy to pay for the people who design the board in the first place rather than getting scammed by Blync that has a elaborate scam to get their revenue top up when things goes off line.
