Oops didn’t see your answer. No I am not using MQTT but maybe this is my setup that is causing the issue.
My sensor is pointing towards the garage door and it read the distance to the door.
If it opens, the distance is tends to be very big, if it is close it is roughly 300cm.

I have the auto-close enabled and it might be the culprit somehow.
Maybe the device makes a bad reading thinking the door is open and after the 15 minutes period, it tries to “close” it but instead, it opens it.
Would that be possible?

Ok, I’ll do that. It is very obvious during the night because nobody is awake at 4am. Most difficult to see during the day because there is a lot of back and forth.
I’ll keep you posted of of the results. I noticed it at least 3 times/nights (say in a month), this is why I signed up and created this topic. I will try to review the log and compare with Camera footage to see the real frequency…

I know for certain the garage door opened by itself because I have cams that captured those events. That is a bit scary.
It is not an isolated event. It happened several times.
