    Hello,

is it possible to buy opengarage with an ethernetadapter or to upgrade this?

Does opengarage work with Hoerman garage doors?

Thank you and greetings from Austria

Sorry, no, wired Ethernet is not supported. While it’s possible to develop a version that uses wired Ethernet, the majority of IoT garage door openers use WiFi. I have frankly not seen any that uses wired Ethernet. So I suspect the market will be very small.

OpenGarage works with almost all garage door systems. You can think of it as a WiFi-enabled door button.

I desperately need to have the opengarage device on Ethernet. Your guess about the market is based on your own prejudice on this. I have multiple wifi access points but Ethernet is the only reliable connection.
If I could get the idiots that make garage door openers to use Ethernet I would be ecstatic. Everyone feeds off everyone else’s beliefs.

One benefit of a fully open-source design like OpenGarage is that you can modify the circuit in any way you want. If you need wired Ethernet, modify the circuit yourself to add wired Ethernet. If you are not sure how to do that, use a generative AI engine to help you. It can also modify the firmware code for you to support wired Ethernet.
