So I have my Blynk token setup before the official OpenGarage app took it’s place. Back then I was on Android and now on iOS. It was nice getting notifications but it appears that the Blynk app is required to receive notification on my phone. Why isn’t there native notifications on the OpenGarage app without the usage of Blynk? Seems rather pointless to carry both apps that do the same thing unless I’m missing something rather simple to enable notifications without installing Blynk. The lack of people complaining about this would lead me to believe I’m am missing something.
From what I saw in the code, the notifications are tied to Blynk and IFTTT. If you don’t use Blynk, you can still use IFTTT for notifications through its own app or set up an email or text message without requiring an app..
I’m running 1.04 firmware and of course I haven’t had luck updating it to the latest 1.06 through the webpage. Is IFTTT incorporated in that firmware? I think it may have been later iterations 1.05 or 1.06.
