With Blynk stop working providing notifications for approximately the last two months, I went on ahead and updated my firmware to 1.23 which has e-mail support for notifications. I moved on to OTC so I could access my history and settings from anywhere. While the e-mail worked fine, I wasn’t satisfied with it being mixed in with my other Gmail accounts.
I’m sure there’s a better way of doing this but this worked fine for my needs by using Pushover notifications. They have an e-mail Gateway integration that uses their unique e-mail address to push notifications to your device. While this is a step up from e-mail notifications, I went ahead and created an e-mail alias within Pushover so it provides another unique e-mail address just for OpenGarage. From there, I also setup an OpenGarage application to go with the alias e-mail address and it’s own icon so it’s easier to tell from my other Pushover notifications.
The program has a 30-day trial. After that, it costs $5 per platform (Android, iOS, Desktop). You can even assign different sounds or custom sounds for the notification. I was even able to modify the iOS Shortcut from this thread https://opengarage.io/forums/topic/opengarage-ios-shortcut-for-hey-siri-invocation/ so that Siri would work with OTC.
