Mobile app only partially working

I am using the mobile app on iOS.

When I open the app I can see the controller, and clicking history shows the correct door history.
However pressing the Open button does nothing, and the closed display at the bottom of the app does not change if I open the door. The website seems to work fine, but I would rather use the app as its a bit easier, than logging in to the website.

Do I need to set up remote access (blynk or OTC) to make the mobile app work when connected to my local network.
I used to use the blynk legacy app, but if I can just use the OpenGarage app locally that would be find for me for now.

I only just updated to FW 1.2, I notice on OpenGarage landing page, it will show valid data, the show its disconnected, seemingly switching between them.
